She Writes Woman Mental Health Initiative is a women-led disability rights nonprofit movement that gives a voice to mental health in Nigeria by empowering people who live with mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities to tell their own stories, advocate for their rights and co-create their solutions.

As we continue to scale our groundbreaking work, we are looking to recruit young people to grow with us. Energetic, experienced and passionate about mental health, human rights and disability rights are some of the qualities we are scouting for at our HQ in Abuja.

We are particularly looking for generalists who have experience in starting, building and/or restructuring the end-to-end of their units and roles, and whose practical knowledge cuts across overlapping skillsets.

Operations Associate:
A generalist whose experience cuts across employee relations, admin, welfare, programming and communications particularly in the nonprofit space. Must be excellent at administration and documentation; managing people and tasks, running the office, and working closely with the management and executive team (executive assistant).
Responsibilities:
People:
Oversee daily operations of the organisation and the work of team/unit leads
Inspire employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication;
Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
Programmes:
Design and implement organisational and programme-specific strategies, plans and procedures.
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth across teams and projects
Document and set standards across the board while incorporating best practices tech and tools for efficiency
Write and submit periodic reports to the ED and stakeholder groups
Progress:
Document and standardise core functions such as HR and Admin, Communications and Programmes
Establish policies together with Employee Relations and champion practices that promote company culture and vision
Together with ED, carry out resource mobilisation and nurture key stakeholder relationships
Manage relationships with partners and donors alike

Administrative Assistant/Associate:
A hard-worker who is enthusiastic about taking on business support roles across operations, our ideal candidate is energetic, outspoken, tech/social media savvy, possesses basic knowledge of mental health, law, human rights and disabilities, has stellar spoken and written English, is eager to learn and grow, and is ideally a fixer.

Finance Manager/Accountant:
Our financial manager/accountant is a charterholder of local and/or international accounting or financial bodies, e.g. ACCA, ICAN, CFA, etc. Our ideal candidate has amassed years of hands-on experience in financial management of small to medium-sized nonprofit/development organizations in Nigeria.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the compliance of all financial operations with statutory laws (including taxes, filings etc), donors & industry best practices;
- Establish & implement financial reporting systems;
- Provide & communicate the financial status & plans with key stakeholders;
- Ensures the finance & admin unit runs smoothly;
- Cashflow management;
- Project, Grant & Organization budgeting;
- Payroll management;
- Lead audit exercises and address audit findings;
- Participate in the organisation's administrative activities (setting up emails, provision of data & airtime, birthday celebrations, smooth running of the organisation);
- Supports with liaising with vendors/suppliers.

Employee Relations (HR, Welfare & Logistics):
A people-person, our employee relations personnel is someone who has experience running the day-to-day of human resources, welfare, logistics and procurement. Our ideal candidate is an administrator with a strong sense of flexibility and creativity in making the workplace a safe space for the team. They are tech-savvy, organised, self-led with attention to detail and discretion in managing data and information.

Programmes Officer (Advocacy):
Our ideal candidate is a person with strong law and policy background and previous work experience in policy or legislative advocacy with particular focus on human rights (or disability rights). You will need stellar communication skills to interface with legislators and other stakeholders, and will need to know the inner workings of law-making and implementation in Nigeria. A strong human rights activist, our ideal candidate must be passionate about mental health and should have experience working in the development sector.
Requirements:
A degree in Public Policy, Law, Human Rights or International Development, or other related field.
Prior experience in mapping out relevant search topics, mobilising resource people, interviewing, writing/reporting, and creatively disseminating, from the start of a project to the finish.
Prior experience in policy-making, strategic advocacy of human rights and/or disability rights
Experience in managing surveys, the use of data collection tools, and major evaluation methodologies.
Strong research background and knowledge on Nigeria’s laws, policies and international commitments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Prior work experience in the development space is key;
Ability to work efficiently with governmental institutions, legislators, MDAs, international partners and other intersecting human rights defenders.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with and provide support to the Programmes Lead on our disability rights advocacy agenda;
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, and document pressing/timely issues on disability rights especially the issues of people with psychosocial disabilities
Analyse and creatively critique news, trending topics and systemic advancements or regressions in line with local laws, Nigeria’s international human rights commitments and the impact on our advocacy using social/digital media
Cultivate and maintain relationships with government officials, legislators, partners and allies
Mobilise and train project stakeholders on strategic advocacy using the UN CRPD and other international development resources and human rights laws/conventions
Document project through internal processes and procedures and external correspondence via press and media relations

Communications Coordinator:
Our chief storyteller and cheerleader, the ideal candidate holds our social, digital and traditional (media and public relations) presence together ensuring that our organisation and mandate is well represented, our programmes and milestones are creatively communicated, our brand is top-of-mind and image is protected in line with our values. In carrying out this role, our tech-savvy Communications Coordinator knows how to transform milestones, news, trending topics and programme details into impactful and relatable multimedia content. They manage the different groups and subgroups of communities we have online and offline. They sustain the relationships the organisation holds dearly and fosters a sense of ownership amongst them.
