Since inception in April 2016, the work we have done at She Writes Woman has largely been self-funded. This is not because we have had enormous funds, but because passion and selflessness kept the fire burning.

During this time, we have –

  1. Created the first privately held 24/7 mental health crisis helpline in Nigeria;
  2. Initiated the first ever mental health support group in Nigeria;
  3. Reached over 16,205 people across the world from all our platforms, initiatives, events and partnerships in the first year.

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. – African Proverb

There is so much more that can be done with regards to mental health in Nigeria. Imagine if we can keep saving people from jumping off bridges and overdosing on medication. Imagine a Nigeria where mental healthcare does not have to be such a luxury. What if with your help, we could subsidise or give out free medication to those in dire need? Can you imagine a Nigeria where talking about our mental health is not a taboo? With your help, it is possible
